Malindo Airlines

Malaysian hybrid carrier Malindo Airlines on Saturday started direct flights from Mumbai (India) to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). While Malindo air becomes the 32nd carrier to operate international flights from Mumbai, it is the first airline to have started services after the Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport was inaugurated. The development is major with the terminal's attempt to turn Mumbai, which is the economic work horse of India, into an travel hub, and subsequently increase the traveller capacity. Terminal 2, which is part of the airport's progress programme, has been built at a cost of over Rs 5,600 crore.

Druk Airlines, Singapore-TATA air, are among the other carriers which are expected to begin their operations from T2 in the near future. National airways, Airline India, which moved its hub from Mumbai to Delhi in 2013, is also planning to remake the town as its second travel hub, following the integration of the new terminal by 2015.

CEO officer of Malindo Airways, Chandran Rama Muthy mentioned as a key commercial and cultural center in India which successfully glues the tradition and modernity against backdrop of a spectacular canvas, Mumbai has something for all, regardless whether you are travelling here for holidays or business. The carrier recently began operations from Delhi, and Trichy. It has further plans to have flights from Ahmedabad and Kochi.
